decent destinations: Xmas edition.

decent destinations: Xmas edition.

We know it can be hard to leave the house when temperatures are close to zero and the rain is pelting down.

But warming your hands with a cappuccino or visiting festive markets while sipping a glass of spicy mulled wine?
Now that doesn’t sound so bad.

So starting at the top of the UK and working our way down, we’ve curated a list of cosy and snug places to warm your
fingers and get amongst the festive spirit.

We hope you all have a lovely (and decent!) Christmas. 🎄🤶

Edinburgh.

Heading to Edinburgh for New Year’s?

Pop into Twelve Triangles and devour one of their Christmas Croques. It’s a twice-baked croissant with prosciutto, brie, cranberry jam and béchamel. Say less. Or savour a piece of stollen (their version), alongside your espresso.

Manchester
.

In Manchester for December?

The Manchester Christmas Markets are a must-visit, with over 225 stalls across nine sites throughout the city centre. Learn more here.

And don’t forget to pick up a Panettone and Hasbean coffee from Pollen Bakery, or sip a mug of hot chocolate laden with marshmallows at Off The Press

Bristol.

Using the holiday break to explore Bristol? Well, you won’t be short of good spots to explore and eat here. One of these is Farro - also named as one of the top 20 bakeries in the UK, so you KNOW it’s good. Society also have two lovely spots around town to get your caffeine fix.

Bath.

Landrace Bakery is something of an institution in Bath. Another of the top 20 bakeries in the UK, we don’t know whether to tell you to get their soft Amaretti, or brandy Christmas cake, or stollen, or mince pies… ok we’ll stop there - you get the picture.

London.

Staying in the big smoke over the holidays? No shortage of festive activities and warming spots to hide away in here.

Why not head out to Richmond for the day, getting some fresh (albeit cold) air, walking around Richmond Park? Then go warm those frozen hands at Wylie’s Coffee - a gorgeous independent shop to pick up some lovely Christmas gifts and stocking fillers.

Or take yourself to see a film at Curzon Cinemas. With spots all around London, get in the Christmas spirit watching a film (hello, Wonka!) with a Baileys’ hot chocolate and Xmas Mince Pie.

Margate
.

There's nothing quite like the seaside in the middle of winter. Take a group of you and dine at Forts with their Christmas sharing menu. Perfect for groups of 15-25 people, you'll be served Christmas delights with all the trimmings. Their pumpkin spiced lattes aren't to be missed either!

Cornwall.
