Our latest Compostable Canvas Hot Cups feature the incredible work of Elena Boils. We sat down with Elena to discuss her creative process, inspirations and more. 

We love the designs you have created for our recent Compostable Canvas Cup! What’s inspired your style as an artist?

I think it came about from a lot of playing about with different things and it still keeps evolving but somewhere I've always taken inspiration is book covers from 50's and 60's. I love the way old printing bleeds and has a limited palette.

What gets you into your creative flows and where do you draw inspiration from?  

Everywhere! It really depends on the project I have in front of me and where I think good inspiration will come from. Sometimes it can be nature and something in the world other times it can be a specific film or book. 

When you’re not creating, how do you like to spend your time? 

I love to go on a really long walk that takes all day and has many stops.

Since you’ve created these designs for our Hot Cups… what is your hot drink of choice? 

Coffee! First thing in the morning, I need it or else I can't wake up.
