Mouth-watering sandwiches in the UK.

Mouth-watering sandwiches in the UK.

The UK is certainly not short of great sandwiches (a.k.a, sandos). From fancy butties to unusual (but irresistible) filling
pairings, we’ve rounded up just a few of the best.  So next time you need something delicious slammed between
two slices of bread, we’ve got you covered.

It’s sandwiches, but not as you know it.

Enjoy.

Alby's - Edinburgh
You know when you pull a toastie apart and the cheese is oozing out in gorgeous melted streaks and it sort of feels like everything is right in the world? Meet, Albys. Sometimes they add japapeños or marmite butter, or keep it as a fresh sandwich with something like spiced roast cauliflower (just to name a few).

Whether it’s a toastie or a sambo, Alby’s have been doing this for five years now. Five years of sandwich experience. Need we say more.

Green Street - Bath
A butcher’s shop, it’s fair enough to say that Green Street knows what they’re doing with their meat.
And that’s roasting their Porchetta in a blend of herbs and garlic until it has a beautiful, crispy crackling, or pairing their rotisserie chicken with caramelised shallots and garlic mayo. All before stuffing them into baps that have people queuing out the door every lunch time.

It’s meat sandwiches done impeccably well.

lulu’s - London
Roast chicken & herby mayo, salt beef & sauerkraut, courgette & corn fritters, nduja & whipped ricotta. All sandwiches done by the fabulous Lulu’s.

See the goodness here.

Federal - Manchester
With a rolling menu of sandwiches, always served in a beautiful artisan ciabatta, you’ll definitely be wanting to order one at Federal Cafe in Manchester.

They have their Korean pulled beef sando (think, slow cooked beef, gochujang mayo, napa cabbage slaw, pickled onions & mozzarella in a toasted ciabatta) or the Fed Sausage Sando with egg and bacon for more of a breakfast vibe (or, hangover cure).

Now that’s how you do a sandwich.

Milk Run - London

Milk's bakery baby sis, Milk Run, has recently opened their doors and with it, some fabulous sandwich options for your lunch.

Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday you can pick up one of their house made sourdough, focaccia or shokupan sandos. And with meat, veggie and vegan options, there's something for each and every one of you.

Best enjoyed alongside their damn good coffee too.
