Get to know... Napoleon
We caught up with Rachel from Napoleon, a specialty coffee shop in Belfast, where they not only offer a range of local and guest coffees, but they have a Babka Bun you must indulge in.
More so than ever does community and collaboration play a huge part in the hospitality industry, and what better way to encourage locals to support locals in 2020, than for everyone to get to know each other a little better. So let’s get to know Napoleon.
Hi Rachel, could you give us an overview of Napoleon?
Napoleon is a Specialty Coffee Shop situated in the heart of Belfast’s Linen Quarter. We share our space with Ormeau Baths; a co-working space, housed in a beautiful Victorian bathhouse.
Our cafe concept was built through a love of travelling and exploring the culture in other cities, alongside many years working in the industry. We focus on serving quality coffee with welcoming and friendly service, regularly showcasing new international roasters. We offer locally sourced food and treats, with plans to expand into a unique seasonal grab-and-go deli menu.
How would you describe Napoleon in three words?
Welcoming. Quality. Sustainable.
What would be the most popular item on your menu?
A favourite start to the day is a Flat White, paired with our Chocolate & Hazelnut Babka Bun.
What's your local favourite spots to support?
We have an amazing community of local independent cafes, all of which have put Belfast on the map as a destination for specialty coffee - it’s hard to pick a favourite as we love them all! At the moment, a day off means visits to our friends at The Pocket Flatiron for a coffee and Fruit Shop for something delicious to eat!
What inspires you in the sustainability space?
When we set up the business one of our core values was to keep things as sustainable as possible - from reducing the number of plastics we use to recycling and of course, having partnered with Decent Packaging for our compostable packaging. It’s inspiring to see a shift in consumer behaviour when it comes to sustainability - from making sustainable choices to the awareness around Climate Change, we all have started to appreciate how individual changes help make the planet a cleaner and safer place to live and work.
